Camera infrared thermometers are a hybrid of infrared thermometer and thermal imaging camera. They are used wherever the use of conventional non-contact infrared thermometers is too costly. Sometimes only one object with a small measuring range has to be examined and a high resolution of the thermal image is not absolutely necessary. Also check out the differences between thermal imaging and infrared thermometers.

CEM DT-9862S

The low-cost infrared thermometer with camera is the CEM DT-9862S*. It has only one digital camera to display the visible spectrum and no IR camera. For this purpose, it can measure a temperature of -50 ° C to 2200 ° C (-58° F to 3992° F).

It is ideal for users who need to work at very high temperatures and want to have a digital capture (visual) of the measurement object at the same time.

  • Emissivity correction adjustable from 0.1 to 1.0
  • Battery life approx. 4 hours with continuous use
  • Double – laser spot mark
  • Very large temperature range
  • Measures moisture and air temperature, dew point and wet circle temperature, type-K temperature measurement
  • No IR camera integrated, only one temperature measuring point

With the TG165 *, FLIR offers a model for users who do not necessarily need a full-fledged thermal imaging camera but simple thermal imaging. The brand product is distinguished by the user-friendliness and operation, but unfortunately does not have an integrated digital camera (visible spectrum), for image-combining. Among the camera infrared thermometers, it is in the mid-range performance-wise and is also affordable.

It is suitable, for example, for carrying out preventive maintenance work or for thermal inspection in mechatronics.

  • Emissivity correction adjustable from 0.1 to 0.99
  • Battery life: 5 days for typical use or 8 hours of continuous use
  • Wide temperature range
  • Quality and workmanship
  • Easy handling
  • 8 GB SD memory card (incl.)
  • Designed to survive a drop from 2 m height
  • No digital camera integrated for visible spectrum

Laserliner ThermoVisualizer Plus

This battery-operated camera infrared thermometer allows precise thermal measurements and can store the measured data for every image taken. A plus is the comparatively large 2.8 inch color LCD, but an integrated camera for the visible spectrum is missing unfortunately.

Areas of application of the Laserliner ThermoVisualizer Plus * are the electrical installation, heating construction and climatic engineering.

  • Emissivity correction adjustable from 0.1 to 1.0
  • Operating time: approx. 6 hours
  • Large color LCD
  • No digital camera integrated for visible spectrum

Fluke VT02

The Fluke VT02* is one of the more powerful models among camera infrared thermometers. It is priced in this category in the upper section, but still far below the usual thermal imaging cameras. There is a digital camera for the visible spectrum and a camera integrated for the warming panel.

The resulting image-combining feature makes it particularly interesting for demanding users who are active in HVAC technology, industrial maintenance, electrical installation or the automotive industry.

More information …

  • FOV: 20 ° x 20 °
  • Supports image-combining
  • 4 GB SD memory card (Incl.)
  • Point & Shoot concept without focus
  • 5 color palettes

Fluke VT04A (vs. FLUKE VT02)

For users who want a permanently integrated and rechargeable battery instead of batteries (FLUKE VT02), use the FLUKE VT04A*. Another difference between the two models is that the VT04A has a slightly larger field of view of 24 ° x 24 °.
